Reading during the Break

Please keep reading during the break!

Some books with movies that you might enjoy include:

Diary of a Wimpy Kid -  easy, funny
Twilight- vampires in love in Washington State
Harry Potter  and the Sorcerer's stone (1st book) - magic in England
Cold Mountain - harder, but interesting story about life during the American Civil War
Touching the Void - survival of an injured mountain climber in the Andes Mountains
Into the Wild - an American adventure with a tragic (very sad) end, but the scenery in the movie is amazing.
Hunt For Red October - Submarine spy drama action
Rocket Boys - A true story about future NASA engineers growing up in the 1950s

Re-read The Five People You Meet in Heaven. Often when you re-read you can focus more on details, imagery  (use of words to make pictures for the reader), complex sentence structure and remembering vocabulary. American kids often re-read their favorite books many times. My son has read  Hunt for Red October at least 5 times!
